Southside Elementary is seeking a 4th Grade Teacher who will plan instruction, teach, differentiate instruction, motivate, inspire, and assess students in assigned grade. The candidate will promote a high quality, personalized education program that reflects the Washington State grade level expectations.Required attachments:Cover LetterResume3 Reference LettersValid Washington State CertificationEssential Duties:Work cooperatively and efficiently with administrators, staff, students and parentsShow evidence of adequate planning and preparation while maintaining an organized classroom conducive to learningOrganizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learningAssesses students regularly in accordance with district guidelines, examines student assessment data and refines classroom activities to differentiate instruction for each studentActively participates in professional development activities, including: training sessions and working with the principal and instructional coaches.Provides students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress as well as finds ways to involve parents/guardians in their students' educationIdentifies unique student needs and collaborates with other team members to diagnose and address learning challengesDevelops and implements lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with Washington State grade level expectations and adopted state/district standards.Preferred Qualifications:Enthusiastic and displays an overall optimism towards teaching and student learningMotivates and inspires students to academic successNurturing and empathetic with students from all backgroundsInterested in working in a small rural school district that operates on a very limited budgetAble to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and communityExhibits excellent classroom management skills and works effectively with large and small groups of studentsDesires and willing to work toward continual improvement through professional developmentMaintains a positive learning environmentFlexible and a willingness to listen and learn from othersProblem solves and applies critical thinking skillsWilling to supervise after-school activitiesAble to present to students or adults regarding school related issuesWilling to volunteer for community eventsEmbeds technology into everyday learning for studentsApplies technology for required record-keeping purposes and to communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and communityOther Job Functions:Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.Perform other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the administration.Benefits:Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance benefits, as administered by the School Employees Benefit Board (SEBB).Employees are eligible to enroll in the Department of Retirement Services (DRS) as well as the DRS Deferred Compensation Program.
