We are looking to hire a Senior Data Architect to join our Enterprise IT Support Services Team supporting the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), Redstone Arsenal. AvMC is the Army's focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the weapons systems life cycle. AvMC's mission is to "deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions" to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

Translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions.

Designing, developing, and maintaining the organization's future data architecture, including creating and implementing data models, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams.

Developing and implementing cloud-based Enterprise Data Management strategies and policies that align with the organization's overall objectives.

Managing the organization's data assets, including data quality, data architecture, metadata management, data governance, and data security.

Designing and implementing data management processes and procedures that ensure data is accurate, complete, and consistent.

Work closely with the development teams and business stakeholders to ensure that the data architecture meets the organization's needs

Develop and maintain data standards and best practices.

Identify and resolve data architecture issues and challenges.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other Scientific/Technical discipline

Minimum of 8 years of related work experience

Hands on experience performing data engineering, data pipeline implementation, and/or data enterprise management.

Understanding of data management concepts, including data governance, data architecture, metadata management, data quality, data security, and data analytics.

Experience with a range of data management tools and technologies, including data warehouses, data lakes, ETL tools, and data analytics platforms.

Understand software security, software development and cloud deployment operations.

Understand Git-based DevSecOps deployments and Kubernetes orchestration strategies.

Able to effectively communicate how data can be leveraged to drive business value and improve decision-making.

Ability to obtain Security clearance

IAT Level II Security Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
