Overview:

The System Business Analyst supports the Regional Business Directors as the primary finance point ofcontact for of an assigned region, associated department(s) and business unit(s), providing direct andproactive support with budget development, operational performance analyses, strategic financial analysesand business case/capital proforma development. The System Business Analyst reports to Regional BusinessDirectors but has accountabilities to the operations leaders within the region and/or assigned entities (inclusiveof, but not limited to regional CMOs, CEOs and other operations leadership as well as the ARH executiveteam). It is general practice that the System Business Analysts will have assignments that are complex and/orhigher volume, serving regional markets, facilities and departments with finances while being a liaison to otherfinance related subject matter experts. The System Business Analyst will support by being consultants,liaisons and represent finance at meetings or on teams and committees. Individuals in this role must be able toeffectively prioritize and communicate while providing guidance and education to other staff membersregarding complex financial matters.Responsibilities:Ability to conduct and interpret qualitative/quantitative analysis of finance and operational data.Be able to draw and summarize significant conclusions from the data and provide appropriate level of thoughtfulobservation and recommendations via presentation to enterprise leadershipCore understanding of accounting, including the unique accounting practices of health careAdvanced computer skills with strong knowledge of spreadsheet programs; experience with database anddecision support systems is preferred.Ability to assemble managerial financial reports and proformas from multiple sources consistent with andreconciled to audited financial statements and officially released documentsAbility to communicate clearly with leadership, internal and external customers to understand incoming requests,and be able to translate and draw on the appropriate data sources to ultimately provide useful, relevant insightsand conclusionsBasic understanding of patient care operations, including the complexities of various hospital designations,markets, ambulatory clinics and related entitiesProficiency in analyzing and explaining financial impact, explaining the operational rate and volume drivers ofresults and outcomesAbility to form constructive working relationships with various stakeholders, customers, colleagues, andsupervisorsAbility to simultaneously manage multiple and competing requests and projects concurrently while adhering todeadlines. Ability to perform under changing circumstances and deadlines.Creativity to address unprecedented circumstances, access multiple data sources, and discover ways to improveexisting processes and data sources. Ability to engineer new or alter current processes.Demonstrate continued willingness to learn, while developing business acumen to achieve ongoing growth within the position and within the organizationStrong attention to detail with the ability to learn quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service. Ability to gain respect and confidence with professional peers.Qualifications:EducationBachelors Degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university is required; MHA, MBA or equivalent experience preferredMinimum Work Experience1 year functional experience providing financial analysis of health care operations requiredRequired Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesStrong data analytics, interpersonal communication, collaboration, problem solving, organizational, presentation, training, excellent follow through and prioritization skills. Advanced knowledge of common analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau; experience with Axiom Decision Support Suite desirable; project management experience preferred
