This is a 10-month position responsible for creating a safe, supportive living/learning environment for students. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Residential Life.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreates and manages a safe, healthy, and nurturing living/learning environment.Develops a supportive community consistent with the Academy's creed through creative educational, cultural, social, and recreational programming.Advises and mentors students, providing appropriate support during crises.Provides academic support services and serves on the Academic Success Team.Monitors and documents student progress in academics and personal growth.Serves as an advisor and liaison for clubs and activities.Provides on-call support to students on a rotation basis.Essential FunctionsCollaborate with Academy staff to foster a community that promotes student learning and independence.Establish rapport and develop mentoring relationships with students.Live on student wing and serve as a role model.Transport students in university-owned vehicles.Implement initiatives focused on student retention.Administrative FunctionsMaintain wing programming and supply budget.Assess the efficacy of programs and activities.Communicate regularly with parents.Provide day-to-day intervention and crisis response.Submit maintenance requests to maintain a conducive living environment.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree.Experience in residential life at the secondary or post-secondary level.Must reside on a single-gender residential wing.Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid driver's license.Additional Information:Furnished room with private bathroom provided.
