General Responsibilities

The Pe Ell School District is a K-12 district located in Southwest Washington serving about 270 students in Lewis County, WA.

Assignment:

The Pe Ell School District is seeking an energetic and student-focused candidate for our

Secondary Math Teacher position.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing math educational opportunities for rural students of various ages and ability levels, and a commitment to going above and beyond to support students in achieving their personal and academic goals. The position primarily involves teaching high school math for grades 9-12 in small class sizes, with an annual rotation of Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Advanced Math with the potential to teach middle school math and/or areas of other secondary endorsements. Course offerings may vary from year to year based on student needs. Additional teaching duties and course assignments may be adjusted to meet the needs of students and the district.

Salary:

Teacher pay scale in the 2024-2025 school year ranges from $55,241.00 – $106,747.00 annually based on education and experience. Other extracurricular roles and pay stipends may also be available. Contact the district for more information.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:The following responsibilities are required of the position, plus any other duties that may be required by the employer. Specific duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the building administrator.

Teach and instruct high school students at all levels of math, from algebra I to calculus.

Develop lesson plans and teaching outlines using Washington State Standards.

Teach using a variety of methodologies, including inquiry, demonstrations, discussions and technology/laboratory experiences.

Plan, develop, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids appropriate to the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socio-economic backgrounds who possess a range of mental and emotional maturity.

Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.

Prepare, administer, score, record and report student growth data.

Counsel, confer with, and communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding pupil progress.

Monitor children's interactions and nurture cooperation and team building.

Collaborate with all school staff members.

Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.

Washington State Teaching Certification

High School Math Endorsement

Preferred Qualifications

Secondary Endorsement in Foreign Language and/or Social Studies.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.

Employees who are anticipated to work 630 hours during the school year (September 1 through August 31) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, long term disability and basic life insurance benefits. Retirement and Deferred Compensation

Eligible employees are required to be a member of the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems Plan. Employees also have the ability to participate in tax deferred 457 Deferred Compensation Plans (DCP).
