Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters. Currently, we are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer-P2 supporting the operations and maintenance of custom solutions and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities at Aurora CO. The ideal candidate will have a cyber experience across the full spectrum of cyber operations from a mission execution perspective, to include vulnerability management, compliance management, and enterprise information security infrastructure.Work Location: Aurora, COPosition Type: OnsiteResponsibilities:
Assess known systems vulnerabilities and verify system hardening and patching activities to ensure compliance with the most current applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)/Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) and related checklists.Support preparation of documentation (artifacts and bodies of evidence) for assessment and authorization (A&A) activities necessary to ensure system sustained Approval to Operate (ATO).Assist in defining cyber requirements and designing solutions, providing guidance and direction related to security technologies, performing analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results, identifying, and implementing cybersecurity design, and preparing and maintaining engineering and security-related documentation.Perform and provide vulnerability assessment results and recommendations to leadership.Ensure the security integrity of systems by maintaining mission systems basic cyber hygiene, implementing cyber resiliency solutions, and performing associated compliance validation/verification.Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience related to Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements determination, development, and implementation, Cyber Security Engineering, and architecture.An Active and Current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required on Day 1 of employment. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Experience with performing assessments of various operating systems with DISA STIGs and SRGs.Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools, e.g., ACAS and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).Experience with network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for LINUX, Microsoft, and CISCO Systems (Previous experience with RHEL 7 and 8 is highly desired).Experience in RMF Certification and Accreditation Processes, assessing and validating compliance with IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.Must possess Security Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II (Security+ or equivalent) or be able to obtain within 6 months of start.Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree in STEM with 3+ years of engineering experience.An Active and Current DoD Top Secret/SCI with a CI Poly security clearance after Day 1 of employment.Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide, DoDI 8500.Experience with information security toolsets such as Elastic and/or SPLUNK or other related Intrusion Detection Tools.Experience in manual hardening and system compliance.Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision.Ability to support periodic travel (less than 10%).RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
