Our 100% employee-owned and integrated team of multi-discipline design and engineering professionals is looking for an experienced design professional who has an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in the design of commercial and industrial facilities to join our team in Downers Grove, IL. Our office is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Downers Grove close to restaurants, shops, and just one block from the BNSF line train station.As a member of our team, you will collaborate with a team of highly talented and innovative professionals to develop schematic designs, assist with specification preparation, outline cost estimates, and create construction documentation. From schematic design through construction, you will become engaged in the full life cycle of a variety of new or renovated facilities projects for Class I Railroads and Mass Transit organizations throughout the country.As a Graduate Architect, you will also conduct site assessments and perform construction inspections on occasion to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design plans and standards.Hybrid work arrangements (3 days in office / 2 days remote per week) will be considered for self-starter and self-sufficient professionals who demonstrate an ability to work, learn, communicate, and collaborate successfully in a hybrid work environment.Required Qualifications
NAAB Accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture.Experienced design professional with 2 to 5 years of post-academic design experience.Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of graphics applications including Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design is a plus.Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when preparing technical reports and documentation, and participating in project team meetings.Demonstrated confidence in ability to communicate directly with client and contractor representatives to review and address questions or concerns related to quality, safety, and compliance aspects of project design and construction activities.Ability to travel to attend project meetings, conduct on-site consultations and assessments, and meet with team members at other CSA and TKDA office locations; occasional overnight travel will be required.Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.Advantageous Qualifications
Previous experience working on multi-disciplined project teams (including electrical, mechanical, and structural).Previous experience determining construction cost estimates, conducting site/facility assessments, and performing construction observation and inspection services.Previous commercial and/or industrial facility design experience.Working knowledge of REVIT and 3D Rendering Software.Upon acceptance of a conditional offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete a standard pre-employment background screening, which consists of Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.In addition, to be considered for this opportunity and to perform the assigned responsibilities, candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to complete and pass any background, security, and drug test requests required by CSA, clients, and state and/or federal agencies.
