The DevOps Engineer with a security emphasis and AWS knowledge will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure cloud-based solutions while ensuring best security practices are followed. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWSImplementing security policies and best practices for cloud-based applicationsCollaborating with development teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipelineMonitoring systems for security vulnerabilities and conducting regular security auditsEngaging in incident response activities and addressing security issues promptlyAutomating security processes and configuration managementImplementing and managing AWS/Azure services and resourcesCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security and compliance requirements are metEducation and Experience

Required:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering with a focus on securityAWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps EngineerExperience with implementing security controls in cloud environmentsRequired Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of AWS services and hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructureExperience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationProficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShellUnderstanding of security best practices and common security threatsExperience with containerization technologies like Docker and KubernetesAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersAbility to obtain public trust clearanceDesired Skills and Competencies

Experience working in a federal government IT environmentKnowledge of compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, or NISTExperience with security assessment tools and vulnerability scanningFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesAWS Certified Security - Specialty certification or Azure equivalentExperience with security incident response and forensicsWorking Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position is primarily indoors and requires the incumbent to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
