Position Summary

As the Accountant of Revenue, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing revenue accounting activities and ensuring compliance with ASC 606. You will play a crucial role in researching and implementing accounting guidance related to revenue recognition for new transactions and accounting pronouncements. This position requires a strong focus on technical accounting and the ability to stay updated on relevant standards and regulations.

Duties And Responsibilities

Analyze financial information to ensure its accuracy and prepare supporting schedules.Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations specifically related to revenue recognition, including complex transactions and accruals/reserves.Review and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for revenue-related transactions, including contracts, agreements, and specialized revenue streams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align revenue recognition policies with business strategies and objectives.Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, with a specific focus on revenue accounting.Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on revenue recognition matters, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 guidelines.Support internal and external auditors during interim reviews and year-end audits, addressing any revenue-related inquiries or issues.Identify areas for process improvements in revenue accounting and contribute to their implementation.Maintain knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting regulations related to revenue recognition.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting requiredActive CPA license, MBA or equivalent is preferred3-5 years of experience in public accounting or a public company in an accounting/finance roleStrong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, and PCAOB guidance and regulations for publicly traded companiesBalance Sheet Focus: Oversee reconciliations and workflow processes for deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, contract assets, bad debt reserves, and accounts receivable reserves, ensuring accuracy and compliance.ASC 606 and CECL Expertise: Utilize thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition and CECL standards to manage and report revenue accounting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively tailor communications with senior management, external auditors, and various corporate departments, as necessaryStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills.
