ABOUT US:
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is seeking a dedicated and caring Health Professional Nurse to join our WIC & Immunization programs at our Pender, NE office. This position offers 40 hours per week with an hourly wage plus benefits. Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
JOB SUMMARY:
Nurses screen and administer vaccine at immunization clinics and enter and maintain accurate records in program computer system. Travel to assigned clinics and assist with loading/unloading/setting up and taking down equipment. The Nurse is also responsible for nutrition education and basic medical screening. Duties include certifying participants according to established program guidelines, performing hemoglobin checks, handling and disposing of bio-hazard sharp containers, providing breastfeeding education and support to new mothers, assisting clients with making appointments and updating client records as needed, ordering and monitoring vaccine on hand, receiving Department of Immunization Training and/or WIC training as required, referring participants to other resources as needed or requested, cleaning of clinic and office site, lifting up to and including 50 pounds, and maintaining confidentiality of all participant/client information while following Program and Agency standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
RN or LPN credentials from an accredited school. Nebraska LPN or RN License in good standing. Six months to one-year related experience. Basic computer skills in word processing, email, and internet.
WAGE & BENEFITS:
The starting wage for a RN is $27.50 per hour, plus benefits. The starting wage for a LPN is $23.50 per hour, plus benefits. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
