ABOUT US:
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is seeking a dedicated and caring Health Professional Nurse to join our WIC & Immunization programs at our South Sioux City, NE office. This position offers 40 hours per week with an hourly wage plus benefits. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
JOB SUMMARY:
Nurses screen and administer vaccines at immunization clinics and enter and maintain accurate records in the program computer system. The Nurse is also responsible for nutrition education and basic medical screening. Duties include certifying participants according to established program guidelines, performing hemoglobin checks, handling and disposing of bio-hazard sharp containers, providing breastfeeding education and support to new mothers, assisting clients with making appointments and updating client records as needed, and assisting with ordering and monitoring vaccines on hand. Receive Department of Immunization Training and/or WIC training as required. Refer participants to other resources as needed or requested. Occasional travel to assigned clinics and assist with loading/unloading/setting up and taking down equipment. Cleaning of clinic and office site/lifting up to and including 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of all participant/client information and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
RN or LPN credentials from an accredited school. Nebraska LPN or RN License in good standing. Six months to one-year related experience. Basic computer skills in word processing, email, and internet.
WAGE & BENEFITS:
The starting wage for a RN is $27.50 per hour, plus benefits. The starting wage for a LPN is $23.50 per hour, plus benefits. Benefits include health, life, dental, and vision insurance.
