Responsibilities
Job PurposeThe Event F&B Service Manager is responsible for managing services in various food and beverage outletsResponsibilitiesManage dining room and event operations to ensure room is properly setup (tables, chairs, linens, table settings, glassware, etc.). Ensure service staff are in proper uniformCreate shift sheetsCommunicate with service and kitchen staff regarding reservations and/or special events; conduct a pre-shift/pre-event meetingManage bar and event beverage consumption. Maintain a Banquet Bar Control sheet for eventsAssist F&B Director/Manager with hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actionsControl food and beverage costsCreate reports for leadership and accounting by maintaining accurate daily and weekly punch detailsMaximize food and beverage sales by identifying and targeting sales opportunitiesEnforce policies requiring the confirmation of legal drinking age and discontinue service to intoxicated guestsAssist Food & Beverage Director in the delivery of staff meetingsImplement and support initiatives and programs requested by managementOther duties may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
QualificationsMust be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state lawExperience in resolving customer issues/complaints as well as overall excellent customer service requiredProficient in computer software including Microsoft Word and ExcelSolid time management, organization, and prioritization skillsProven ability to effectively build and foster a team environmentAbility to make decisions in a fast-paced environmentValid driver’s license requiredEducationMinimum of 5 years of related experience in customer service role within the hospitality industryMinimum 2 years of management experience in golf, hospitality, or service industry requiredSkills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsKnowledge of Food Service RegulationsVerbal and Written CommunicationCustomer ServiceTeamworkSense of urgencyWorking ConditionsFood & Beverage Service Manager may be required to fill in as bartender, server, host, etc. to relieve staff during peak service hoursDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needsEvening, weekend, and holiday work will be requiredWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
