Assistant/Associate Clinical Track Faculty: EMS Fellowship Director PositionThe University of Utah Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the faculty as our
EMS Fellowship Director .Position Highlights:Join our team of EMS physicians who provide oversight of EMS operations throughout the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding counties, and oversight over the University of Utah’s Air Medical Transport Program.This position provides direct oversight over our ACGME approved EMS fellowship – a one-year fellowship that supports 2 fellows per year.The EMS fellowship offers a variety of direct prehospital care exposure through Salt Lake City Fire Department (urban), Unified Fire Authority (urban), Mountain West Ambulance (rural), AirMed (air EMS), and, optionally, through West Valley City Fire (urban), Summit County EMS (rural), and Grand Teton National Park EMS and Teton County Search and Rescue (federal, rural).Fellows gain administrative experience through QI/QA processes, protocol development, and State and local committee meetings.Fellows are involved in a wide variety of didactic modalities and research opportunities that provide them with the background necessary to become a board-certified EMS physician.Faculty selected for this position will assist with the oversight of an EMS physician vehicle program. Local EMS agency medical oversight opportunities depending upon interest and agency agreement.This position comes with a full academic appointment and allows for faculty to participate in a combination of clinical care, scholarship, and teaching of EMS fellows, Emergency Medicine residents, and medical students.Ideal candidates should have prior EMS fellowship training and willingness to combine administrative, clinical and teaching responsibilities.The University of Utah Health (U of U Health) values candidates who are committed to fostering and furthering the culture of compassion, collaboration, innovation, accountability, diversity, integrity, quality, and trust that is integral to our mission.Candidates should be ABEM/AOBEM board-certified or board-eligible.
