The Program Strategy Manager, Centering Women and Girls of Color (CWGC) is a new role that will serve as a critical member of the lean CWGC Team, which sits within Pivotal’s Program Strategy Team. The Program Strategy Manager will work in close partnership with the Program Strategy Director to manage and execute Pivotal’s CWGC strategy, with a particular focus on building long-term financial stability for the movements to end violence and advance economic justice.The Program Strategy Manager will be responsible for managing internal grantmaking, overseeing the strategy’s monitoring, learning, and evaluation plan, and managing select partner relationships.Role Responsibilities

Internal Portfolio Management

Socialize CWGC’s work with select internal stakeholders while proactively surfacing opportunities for cross-team collaboration.Supervise and complete grantmaking processes including leading pre-concept note meetings with partners, preparing necessary documentation for internal approval, handling internal socialization, and completing annual impact assessments.Work with the Director to highlight partners’ work and promote the strategy’s goals at targeted events and meetings.In partnership with Communications colleagues, find opportunities to use Pivotal’s communications channels to advance messages about the strategy, the “how” of grantmaking to movements, and the critical work of our partners.As needed, support the Director in responding to requests from Executive Leadership regarding the strategy.Partner Management

In collaboration with the Director, design a refreshed partner engagement approach.Build close, trusted relationships with select CWGC partners.Maintain relationships and engagement in a formal cadence (in line with the engagement approach described above) and in response to real-time field activity, Pivotal needs, or partner requests.Respond to partner requests in a timely and efficient manner and feed them back to the team for consideration as appropriate.Coordinate and consult regularly with the Director to ensure alignment with other strategy pillars and the CWGC strategy.Select Strategy Build-Out

Lead grantmaking and grantee relationships for the strategy pillar focused on movement sustainability; for this pillar, work closely with Pivotal’s Investment team to align approaches and identify innovative strategies for testing and building integrated capital approaches for the priority movements. Design and lead the additional inputs required to ensure a high-impact approach to this pillar, such as a design or advisory council. Activities could include:Working with a group of experts to co-design the strategy and approachForging partnerships with internal teamsGuiding new research and landscaping to inform need and partner selectionExploration of partnershipsPartner selectionSupporting the Director in a thought-partnership and management capacity to refine and make additional grantmaking decisions for the other two pillars in the strategy.Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) and Data Investments Oversight

Provide guidance and oversight to the consulting team designing the MLE framework, including data collection, learning, and impact reporting processes and outputs for the overall CWGC strategy portfolio.Provide oversight on targeted investments focused on improving field-level data related to the four strategy pillars and in service of broader field and movement leaders’ needs.Skills and Competencies

Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in philanthropic, investment, and/or non-profit sectors.Familiarity with philanthropic strategy including long-term planning against identified goals applying a variety of assets including private investment, philanthropic capital, voice, networks, etc.Knowledge of social justice frameworks and movements as a strategy for achieving social change.Experience bridging between traditional capital investments teams and social movements – ability to speak to each type of audience in a way that resonates and draws connections between them.Experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.Ability to travel as needed.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with investors, social finance intermediaries and/or organizations focused on supporting the diversification of revenue sources for grassroots organizations through integrated capital strategies.Experience working in or alongside the movement to end violence and/or the movement for economic justice.Base annual compensation range for this role is from $170,000 - $177,500.
