Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.Role Overview:We are looking for a software engineer with a focus on algorithm development for point cloud processing in production as well as simulation platforms.What you'll do:Design and develop point cloud processing algorithms for detection, filtering, and tracking in C++ in production software and simulation platformsTranslate floating-point models to fixed-point for optimal implementation on ARM processors and FPGAsBe involved in all stages of algorithm development including data collection, analysis, development, and testParticipate in the team's development processes, including requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback, and improvementsWhat you'll have:3+ years of experience in developing C/C++ applications with a focus on algorithm designGood fundamentals in mathematics, probability theory, estimation theory, and excellent problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree with 3+ years of industry experience or a master's degree working on software development and algorithm designWillingness to learn, ability to communicate well, and demonstrate healthy drive and energy to understand and solve complex system-level problemsNice-to-haves:Experience working on point cloud processing algorithms for detection, estimation, and filteringWorked on fixed-point algorithm implementation on low-end processorsKnowledge of working principles for radars/lidarsExperience optimizing algorithms for different embedded platforms including ARM and SIMD processorsWhat's in it for you:Be part of a fast-paced and dynamic teamVery competitive compensation and meaningful stock grantsExceptional benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and moreUnlimited PTO: We care about results, not punching timecards$132,400 - $179,200 a yearSalary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future.
