Overview:The incumbent in this position will characterize the geochemical evolution of the Monkey Island formation in response to CO2 injection using geochemical and reactive transport modeling. Integrate hydrologic, stratigraphic, lithologic, mineralogic, and geochemical data into numerical models to simulate coupled fluid and heat flow and reactive transport. Also, the incumbent will program in FORTRAN/Python/other languages. A record of strong experience in modeling and simulations must be shown. Good communication skills are required. Background/expertise preferred in petroleum, chemical, hydrogeological or CO2 sequestration applications. Familiarity with TOUGHREACT or similar codes will be a plus. Knowledge of programming in FORTRAN/Python/other desirable.
