ExemptSUMMARY:Responsible for developing reports and meaningful visualizations for the information needs of Carter Bank & Trust. This role will provide greater insight into Carter Bank & Trust’s customers, profitability, marketing efforts, probability, and risk management. To be successful in this role one needs to be extremely intellectually curious and have a proven ability to manage large data sets and help build advanced analytical solutions in an operations environment. This position requires working collaboratively amongst other team members and across the broader organization. A big part of the role is to be able to ask open-ended questions, identify issues, explore new ideas, and choose appropriate techniques for solving a given problem. Data analyst/Report Developer responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design; developing analysis and reporting capabilities; and monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Communicate with business users and management of all levels for development and delivery of reporting requirements.Gain understanding of the impact and importance of the underlying data across multiple platforms and become an expert in its use.Translate requirements and develop reports and visualizations with on-time delivery and accuracy.Communicate effectively in a collaborative, complex, and high performing team environment.Follow our software development practices and methodologies.Responsibility for systems administration, data architecture, reporting design & execution, and data controls.Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.Learn new technologies as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science, data science or equivalent field required.Prior experience in related business analyst or data/reporting analyst roles.Extensive experience building superior analytical and reporting tools and dashboards using data visualization, such as PowerBI or Cognos.Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques, Snowflake experience a plus.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:Excellent relational database skills.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Superior data analysis skills, synthesizing information across multiple platforms, systems, and organizations.Advanced SQL, Power BI and Cognos skills.Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Ability to work in a dynamic environment and learn new technologies.Excellent customer service skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.High level of attention to detail.Strong problem solving & organizational skills.Able to operate in a self-directed manner with little direction; must have a strong desire to take the initiative to deliver superior results.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:Standing, walking, bending and stooping required.Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer.Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds.May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically.Limited travel required during and after business hours.EDUCATION
