Full TimeShepherd Staff is honored to be working with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bulverde, TX as they search for their next Director of Students and Family Discipleship. St. Paul Lutheran Church is a theologically conservative congregation who are serious about reaching and ministering to the community. St. Paul has a family culture and enjoys being together in the various worship gatherings and events of the church. With Pastor Luke’s coming a few years ago, there exists a reinvigoration and excitement for this new season of ministry.The ideal candidate will be:Highly relational and able to connect with the families, within and outside of the churchEntrepreneurial/Apostleship/Visionary GiftingOrganizedTeam PlayerAccessible to families, students, and staffRecruit, encourage, and develop leadersStrong Communication and follow-throughPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Director of Students and Family Discipleship at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bulverde, TX will be responsible for the development and oversight of our children's and youth ministry, focusing specifically on intentional Christian discipleship of families. This role will focus on building strong relationships, equipping lay leaders and parents for the work of the ministry, and discipling students in their relationship with Christ. This position will be the primary pastor and shepherd of the middle and senior high school students. He/she will report directly to the Lead Pastor.RESPONSIBILITIESPlanning & ProgrammingPlan and lead Sunday morning and midweek gatherings for all students, including music, media, message, set up/tear down, and other activities.Coordinate and attend confirmation camps, student mission trips, fundraisers, and events.Establish and oversee a comprehensive curriculum between all areas of the family ministries.Develop and implement a plan for ongoing parent training and encouragement, which may include Bible studies to help them understand their role and responsibilities in discipling their children.Oversee the safety of students and volunteers by ensuring all volunteers have met appropriate safety protocols.Leadership Development and CareProvide leadership, direction, and cohesion within the family ministries teams.Equip, encourage, and care for family ministry volunteers as they lead their teams/classes.Ensure that new volunteers are equipped to effectively minister to students and their parents.Church LeadershipBe a part of the Pastoral Lead team to help fulfill the church’s vision by leading, supporting and assessing the faith formation ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church.Support parents in their calling as key teachers of faith for their children.Assist in helping to care for the congregational needs of the church.Help in church-wide events to support the mission and vision of the church.Participate in all staff meetings and prayer times.Provide theological leadership and biblical teaching to the congregation.Manage the budgets for the student ministry teams.To find out more information and apply for this amazing opportunity click here to learn more:
