The Director of Men’s Discipleship (DMD) is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the Signal Pres Men’s Ministry. In partnership with and reporting to the Associate Pastor of Discipleship, the DMD will help cultivate an environment where living as the faithful presence of Jesus’ love in ordinary life is accomplished through Gospel-centered teaching, relational discipleship, community-building among men, and equipping men to live well in their homes, workplaces, and beyond.LEADERSHIP:
In partnership with the Associate Pastor of Discipleship, the Director of Women’s Discipleship, and the Director of Community Life, the DMD will develop a comprehensive plan for expanding Signal Pres’ men’s ministry and lowering as many barriers as possible for men to find a place for growth and discipleship.COMMUNITY AND FELLOWSHIP:
The DMD will create environments that foster deeper belonging, intergenerational connection, and a culture of relational vulnerability for men of all ages at Signal Pres. The DMD will plan and execute annual large men’s gatherings (e.g., Men’s Retreat, Old Town Throwdown) and ongoing smaller men’s gatherings (e.g., Porch Night) that take place throughout the year.DISCIPLESHIP:
The DMD will continue the work of discipling via Discipleship Groups and also will establish new opportunities of short- and mid-term discipleship for men of all ages and stages. Central to this discipleship will be a positive vision for living well as fathers, husbands, workers, or friends.TEACHING AND EQUIPPING:
The DMD will create environments where men are taught from a Gospel-centered framework and receive practical equipping to live faithfully in the various roles they have – as friends, husbands, fathers, and workers. The DMD will teach regularly in men’s ministry and will also recruit and equip men to teach and lead in our men’s ministry and for leadership in our church, our community, and beyond.Position Qualifications:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Committed to personal growth, servant leadership, healthy relationships, and partnership with the leadership of Signal Pres.Biblical knowledge and wisdom, understanding of and belief in the principles of Reformed theology, and agreement with The Essentials of our Faith as set out by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC)Is a team player with excellent interpersonal skillsHas a passion for discipling and equipping menExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCan demonstrate previous success and an ongoing ability in developing, organizing, and maintaining ministry effortsVocational ministry experience highly preferredACCOUNTABILITY:
The DMD will be part of a collegial staff team, reporting to the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and accountable to the leadership of Signal Pres.
