Sr. Water Infrastructure & Climate Resilience Leader – New York CityWe invite you to bring your strategic and inclusive mindset, your strong NYC experience and collaborative leadership capabilities into play as you lead the sustainable growth of Ramboll’s innovative, high-quality, and sustainable water practice in our NYC office.As our Leader for Ramboll’s Water Infrastructure and Climate Resilience group in NYC, you will be responsible for a strong and rapidly growing team within the Water and Climate Resilience sector. You will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership in addition to the general management of the team and employees in close collaboration with colleagues across the US and internationally. You will become part of a global leadership team and an interdisciplinary design community. Further, you will be responsible for building client relations outside NYC,
e.g . in New Jersey, Philadelphia and DC. This can also include people leadership of smaller teams in these geographies, including growing these to a sustainable size.To succeed in this role, you must have the strategic, operational, and general management experience with an ambition to engage and motivate our employees. You will foster partnerships and collaboration, create followership, drive growth while performing operationally according to P&L goals, and develop a strong culture in the office in line with Ramboll’s values of trust, empowerment, collaboration, respect, and teamwork.You will join our Water teamYour key tasks and responsibilities will include:Developing and executing our growth strategy for NYC with our NYC-based water team in collaboration with our local and global leadership team, including establishing partnerships, and spearheading recruitment, business development, proposal development and project management.Strong existing client relationships in NYC Metro area in the areas of water infrastructure, water resources and climate resiliency.Assuming a primary role in divisional P&L, operational and growth KPI’s.Talent management and mentoring of people in project management, planning, engineering, and design positions.Identifying and attracting talent and senior experts to grow the Water team in the NYC area by +8-10 employees by 2025 and potentially grow climate resilience teams in regional offices by +5-8 employees by 2025.Managing larger projects and programs as project officer and/or project manager, with overall responsibility for quality, budget & schedule.Ensuring the highest quality by leading and mentoring technical design teams to prepare planning studies, engineering estimates, design and construction documents, and quality reviews for municipal water and wastewater integrated infrastructure and resilience programs.Bringing thought leadership within integrated water infrastructure, resilience and sustainability into proposal creation, execution, and quality reviews of proposals.Participating actively in professional societies with the goal of strengthening technical skills, leading branding activities such as presenting technical papers / publications, and attracting talent.Overall responsibility for the NYC office facilities, including creating strong culture for engagement, mentorship and collaboration across various market sectors.Your starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. Degree in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred) or related Engineering or planning fields, with emphasis preferred in water infrastructure, climate resilience and/or water resources.15+ years overall in water engineering, resilience planning, urban planning or a similar field with minimum:5+ years people leadership experience, including responsibility of operations and growth.10+ years project management experience.Ideally, P.E. certification in New York State with ability to achieve licensure in other states, such as NJ, PA, MD, DE through reciprocity.Preferred Skills/CertificationsPersonal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include a strategic, inclusive, and collaborative mindset, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong business acumen, and leadership skills with ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams across geographical borders.
