The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track research assistant professor position in nano-biophotonics. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research on novel nanophotonic devices and systems for biomedical imaging, endoscopy, and angioscopy. The candidate will develop expertise in the conceptualization of new nanophotonic designs, nano- and microfabrication, as well as integration with biomedical tools. Specific emphasis will be to create liaisons with medical professionals performing image-guided surgeries. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates whose research has spanned novel nanophotonic systems and devices, imaging, and microscopy. This position is not expected to have regular classroom teaching obligations but may provide guest lectures, instructional laboratory support, and other instructional support. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service.The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous and innovative externally-funded research program that provides research opportunities for graduate students, postdoctoral research associates, and undergraduate students.The pay range for this position is $9,000/month to $12,000/month.UW ECE offers an innovative, collaborative, and inclusive environment in which our faculty and students succeed at finding impactful solutions to today’s challenges.
