Work as part of a culinary team in a fast-paced environment where quality and standards exceed guest expectations.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Promotes superior guest service.Maintains and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.Quick and quality execution of cooking duties.Prepares the kitchen for the arrival of the chefs.Assists as necessary in the preparation of ingredients beforehand; cleaning foodstuffs, chopping, slicing, portioning.Monitors stock of the kitchen and reports to head chef as stock runs low.Cleans all kitchen equipment before and after use.Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen.Cooks dishes under the supervision of the chef.Coordinates with other kitchen staff.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).Two years’ experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.Attention to detail and ability to multitask.Knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils – a proper knowledge of the kitchen tools and utensils is required in order to perform the specific tasks and requirements.Work well under pressure and possess good learning skills.Excellent communication skills – the kitchen’s staff works mainly under pressure, so conveying messages clearly, concisely, and in a polite manner is essential for good collaboration and perfect overall results.Great endurance – most of the prep cook work is done standing, moving their arms and lifting and carrying at least 40 lbs.Must possess a valid food service card.Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.Preferred Qualifications:Culinary school certificate encouraged.Work Shift:Regular
