This starts in colleges and universities, where the minds and values of emerging leaders are shaped, and conversations take place that steer broad cultural change. We engage with leaders across the campus environment – faculty, staff, administration, and students. We offer the tools, guidance, opportunities, and networks needed to bring interfaith learning into their campuses, classrooms, research, and lives. THIS POSITION The Interfaith Leadership Institute (ILI) is the largest gathering of students and campus educators with a commitment to American religious pluralism. Each year, hundreds of people who care about the future of our religiously diverse society converge in Chicago to learn, train, share and get inspired to bring the movement for interfaith cooperation back to their campuses and communities. The Director of the ILI will be responsible for increasing the number of campuses attending the ILI each year, as well as keeping past and current attendees engaged beyond the ILI. Furthermore, the ILI Director will also oversee the development of programs situated within the ILI ‘ecosystem’ that equip student and staff audiences with additional skills and resources for engaging interfaith work on campus. RESPONSIBILITIES: ILI Vision & Implementation Define, clarify, and execute ILI strategy in collaboration with leaders across the organization and in alignment with IFYC vision and strategy. Develop and communicate a program vision for ILI to internal and external stakeholders; serve as the organizational face of ILI program for internal and external stakeholders. Evaluate short-term and long-term ILI impact and outcomes; guide program shifts and changes for future ILIs including identifying strategic adjustments and managing change across the team. Uphold responsibility for ILI impact and deliverables. Develop and implement ILI staffing plans including overseeing selection, contracting, and training (as needed) for alumni trainers at ILI. Liaise with Advancement Team to accommodate VIP guests at the ILI. Oversee long-term planning for ILI, including final venue selection for future ILIs in collaboration with Special Events Manager. Develop innovative program ideas for the ILI in partnership with Senior Director of Leadership. ILI Content Design & implement ILI “content arc” that weaves all-participant sessions and training room curriculum together and is in alignment with IFYC vision, strategy, and goals. ILI ‘Ecosystem’ Management & Implementation Oversee learning and engagement opportunities for campus staff and students beyond the ILI. ILI Recruitment & Branding Develop, implement, and refine overall ILI recruitment strategy in collaboration with Senior Director of Leadership, Special Events Manager, and Director of Marketing and Communication. Team Management Supervise Special Events Manager who is responsible for ILI logistics and administrative processes, as well as non-ILI events. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree required • Four or more years’ experience and a record of success in program strategy, or related responsibilities in interfaith work, higher education, non-profit, government, and/or religious communities. • A proven record of experience in successful project management including goal setting, team coordination, and systems support. • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. • Authorization to work in the United States. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Advanced degree in religion, higher education, organizational management, youth development, or related field. • Experience leveraging interfaith leadership in a variety of settings.
