Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing team in Roseland, NJ! This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with opportunities for advancement.

The Accounting Manager drives a culture of success through analyzing and reporting financial performance, implementing efficient processes, understanding the insurance business, and managing office operations while promoting teammate engagement and positive operating margins for the profit center.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:Act as a business partner to the profit center and local leadership in areas regarding finance, operations, information technology, and team resources.Compile and analyze financial information to prepare system entries to document business transactions.Analyze financial information detailing income, expenses, earnings, assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position based on past, present and expected operations.Prepare, report, and present financial information to the local, regional, and corporate leaders in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Company.Establish uniform procedures and monitor practices to ensure mandatory compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley.Direct and monitor operational activities of the office in accordance with established policy, procedures, and objectives.Prepare and process payroll transactions and manage employment responsibilities in accordance with established policies and practices set by team resources, as well as local, state, and federal legislation.Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording necessary details meeting company guidelines.Evaluate business operations trends and needs to determine areas of cost savings opportunities.Establish synergies between the finance and client service teams to minimize errors and process deficiencies that impact the financial outcome.Review, reconcile, and resolve inconsistencies with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions.Supervise, train, and develop the capabilities of the team in a manner that enhances the department's efficiency through regularly evaluation of teammates skills, and financial and technological knowledge.Regularly evaluate and identify short-term and long-term department recruitment needs and strategies to retain top talent.Develop an onboarding curriculum for new teammates to ensure successful acclimation to the profit center and clear understanding of the defined processes and procedures.Responsible for meeting budgeted operating margins for the department.Build a network of enterprise-wide peers; collaborate best practices.Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office.Promote a commitment to achieve or exceed internal and external performance standards.Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education required for valid licensing.All other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Required:Bachelor's degree7+ years' progressive experience in accounting, finance, and/or auditGAAP accounting and accounting concepts knowledgeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial modeling

Preferred:CPA and/or MBA5+ years' experience in a leadership role.
