POSITION PURPOSE:The Procurement Specialist executes cost effective strategies for the procurement of product and materials used in the business and are in alignment with the company’s overall strategy. Ensures all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Create and Maintain Purchase Orders as requisitionedMonitor procurement spend and procedural compliance to increase productivity and drive efficienciesEngage with region and local leadership to ensure transfer of slow-moving itemsEnsure timely receipt of goods after purchase orders are createdPartner with corporate and/or branch leadership to ensure Internal Audit financial controls are exceeded and/or metExecute reporting to provide visibility on procurement controlsPerform other related duties as assignedExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong customer service and multi-tasking skillsStrong financial acumen, decision-making and quantitative analysisAbility to work with multiple users at various levels of the organizationProficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ExcelPrevious Experience/Education:Experience in supply chain management, purchasing management or related field required3+ years’ experience in roles with increasing responsibility preferred3+ years’ experience in vendor / supplier management, bidding projects and sourcing negotiation preferredCertification in supply chain / purchasing / procurement preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Working conditions are normal for an office environmentStanding, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
