Nestled close to the majestic Sierra mountains in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley, the Visalia Unified School District is committed to providing students young and old with the tools and skills necessary to succeed in life.
Established in 1885, VUSD is the oldest school district in Tulare County. Our services span 214 square miles with a population base of over 135,000. Our family of schools includes 26 elementary schools, a newcomer language center, five middle schools, four comprehensive high schools, a continuation high school, an adult school,a charter independent study school, a K-8 charter home school, and a charter technical early college high school. Over 32,000 students Pre-K to adult are served through Visalia Unified School District.
Our outstanding workforce is comprised of over 3,000 certificated and classified staff. They make our district the jewel of the Central Valley.
Requirements / Qualifications
THE FOLLOWING MUST BE ATTACHED TO APPLICATION:
Once hired, employees will be required to take and pass periodic substance abuse tests as prescribed by the district.
Certification (School Bus Driver's Certificate DL-45 issued by the CA DMV)Driver's License Copy (Valid California Commercial Class A or B Driver License with endorsements for School Bus, Passenger Transportation, and Air Brakes)Health (Medical Examiner's Certificate - MCSA 5876 issued by the FMCSA)Proof of HS Graduation (Copy of high school diploma, GED or transcripts showing graduation date)

Qualified applicants will be provided information regarding being fingerprinted and getting your TB Assessment completed. TB Test and Live Scan (Fingerprints) will have to be completed before being invited to an orientation. The applicant is responsible for the fee which is approximately $65-$75 depending on the agency providing the service.3.
Qualified applicants will be invited to attend an orientation/intake meeting.4.
New hire subsitutes will be set up in our systems: Employee ID, Email, etc.5.
