Our client, a prominent venture capital firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic

VP of Finance

to join our team. This role will be pivotal in driving financial strategy, fund administration, and portfolio company support, reporting directly to the General Partner. We are looking for a strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in managing complex financial operations.Responsibilities:Financial Operations Management:Plan, implement, manage, and control all financial operations and reporting for the funds and firm.Oversee budgeting and planning for the management company.Operate as a Project Manager to oversee the fund admin group, ensuring efficient operation of fund administration functions.Investor Relations and Fundraising:Manage investor relations, including high-touch communications, fundraising efforts (such as DDQs), LP data reporting, and communications.Lead audits, manage tax-related tasks (including QSBS tracking and tax optimization strategies), and handle compliance filing efforts.Portfolio Management:Oversee portfolio valuation, metrics, reserve planning models, and carry reinvestment planning.Provide nuanced high-level support in strategic decision-making processes.Review all books and records for the management company and LP entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Reporting and Compliance:Assist in preparing external quarterly and annual reports.Ensure accurate and timely capital calls for investments and oversee distributions to LPs.Review the fund administrator's work on capital calls, quarterly reporting, and optimize processes to impact metrics and IRR.Strategic Consulting:Consult with portfolio companies on designing finance strategies to enhance performance and growth.Budgeting/forecasting, including exit modeling to support strategic decisions.Relationship Management:Manage professional relationships with fund administrators, legal advisors, bankers, insurance providers, and compliance advisors.HR Support:Support HR-related processes in collaboration with fractional HR resources as needed.Minimum Requirements:Significant experience in finance and accounting within a medium-sized or large venture capital firm.Proven success in fundraising from institutional and family office LPs.Thrive in a hyper-growth, fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to handle ambiguity.Meticulous attention to detail with excellent communication skills, especially in professional investor relations.Excited about owning the finance function in an emerging firm and acting with integrity and discretion.
