Senior Counsel
who will join an inclusive, service-oriented, legal and compliance team supporting Molecular Devices and Phenomenex’s business. This position will report to the General Counsel of Molecular Devices and Phenomenex. The Senior Counsel also will support matters for other Danaher operating companies in the Life Sciences Innovation Group.This is a broad and often complex role spanning multiple legal disciplines and operating in a global environment. This role works directly with associates at all levels of the business, from individual contributors to senior leadership, in many different functional areas, including:Commercial (sales and marketing)Compliance and Enablement (QARA/MAPPS, etc.)What we’ll get you doing:Be a person of influence at the company, serving as one of the legal and compliance team’s primary contacts globally.Provide practical, solution-oriented approaches to a broad range of complex legal issues and risks, and then write and negotiate agreements addressing those issues and risks.Partner with specialist attorneys and other professionals on IP, employment, regulatory, compliance, M&A, joint venture/strategic partnership, and other matters.Use Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, to help the legal and compliance team identify, design and implement continuous process improvement initiatives, such as initiatives to improve the team’s client service levels or streamline its template agreements.The essential requirements of the role include:JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdictionMinimum of 8 years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel or a combination of law firm practice and in-house experience.Ability to manage a global client base and calendar with the ability to balance numerous matters and prioritize effectively as business needs dictate.Ability to communicate and work effectively with associates at all levels of the company, from most junior to most senior, employing a service-oriented, business-minded approach to the practice of law.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Identifying gaps in processes, implementing process improvement, and crafting standard workDrafting and implementing policies and proceduresThe salary range for this role is $220,000-240,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
