About this role:

The role of the Head of Corporate Development and Strategy is crucial for steering MasterClass strategic growth and ensuring its long-term success. She/He will support the CEO, CFO and the Executive Team and work cross-functionally to lead M&A, partnerships, and key strategic initiatives.

What we are looking for:

Skilled at quickly understanding complex issues and simplifying them for the organization to aid in decision-making.

Experienced in using analytics, data, and financial models to inform decisions.

Focused on results, with a talent for creating high-quality, customer-oriented presentations.

Clear and effective communicator, capable of conveying messages to partners and senior leaders.

Capable of managing complex projects and working with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong at building relationships and networking.

Background in Media, Content, or Ed-tech is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities of the role:

Partner with senior executive to identify industry trends, develop our growth and ingrowth strategies, and identify strategic partners and investment opportunities that accelerate MasterClass’s mission and roadmap

Lead special projects including complex partnership deals and execution, aimed at enhancing the company's financial health and strategic positioning, including preparing for future financial milestones and transformation initiatives.

Establish and maintain relationships with senior executives from startups, technology, and VCs to inform product strategy and stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape

Prepare memos and presentations to synthesize key findings and recommendations

Requirements:

BS/BA degree required – candidates with an MBA preferred.

10+ years of experience in the internet, media, software, and/or consumer tech industry in a corporate development/strategy leadership role/investment banking.
