With offices in San Francisco (HQ) and Waterloo, Ontario plus a studio in Los Angeles, we are looking to expand our team to support the business.If you want to help make an impact on our members' lives – we want to hear from you!About This RoleThe role of the Head of Corporate Development and Strategy is crucial for steering MasterClass strategic growth and ensuring its long-term success. She/He will support the CEO, CFO and the Executive Team and work cross-functionally to lead M&A, partnerships, and key strategic initiatives.What We Are Looking ForSkilled at quickly understanding complex issues and simplifying them for the organization to aid in decision-making.Experienced in using analytics, data, and financial models to inform decisions.Focused on results, with a talent for creating high-quality, customer-oriented presentations.Clear and effective communicator, capable of conveying messages to partners and senior leaders.Capable of managing complex projects and working with stakeholders at all levels.Strong at building relationships and networking.Background in Media, Content, or Ed-tech is a plus but not essential.Responsibilities Of The RolePartner with senior executives to identify industry trends, develop our growth and ingrowth strategies, and identify strategic partners and investment opportunities that accelerate MasterClass’s mission and roadmap.Lead special projects including complex partnership deals and execution, aimed at enhancing the company's financial health and strategic positioning, including preparing for future financial milestones and transformation initiatives.Establish and maintain relationships with senior executives from startups, technology, and VCs to inform product strategy and stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape.Prepare memos and presentations to synthesize key findings and recommendations.RequirementsBS/BA degree required – candidates with an MBA preferred.10+ years of experience in the internet, media, software, and/or consumer tech industry in a corporate development/strategy leadership role/investment banking.At MasterClass, we believe we put our best work forward when our employees bring together ideas that are diverse in thought. As a company, we have a location-based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.MasterClass’s salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to salary, we also offer equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more). The range listed is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.Salary Range$240,000—$280,000 USD
