Job Summary
An established Wholesale Manufacturer in NYC is looking to fill an Assistant Technical Design position working with primarily with children's cut & sew knits. This person must be willing to work in the office Monday-Thursday and will work from home on Fridays.
Responsibilities
Generate computerized specification packagesCompiles and maintains all tech packs for accuracy, completeness, quality, affordability, and complianceReview and evaluate samples for spec, pattern shape, and constructionOrganizes fittings based on what samples need to be fitTakes detailed fit notes in each fitting to ensure proper fitProvides fit comments and spec updates to the factories based on revisions made during fitting through written communication and/or pattern corrections, in a timely mannerPerforms pattern corrections where needed and sends out corrected patternsEnsures that all components and constructions used are compliant for Childrenswear guidelinesMaintain fit standards, records, and samples; Helps to organize and file samples by season and factoryUtilize digital photos, technical sketches, detailed instructions, and comments from fit sessions to communicate correctionsMaintain consistency in fit across all apparel categoriesEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related0-2 years of experience in Technical designKnowledge of Childrenswear guidelinesQualifications
Strong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi channel environmentDetail oriented and able to handle multiple task at onceAbility to work independently and work to meet multiple deadlinesAbility to build and maintain relationships with other departments as well as vendors and other overseas officesAdaptable mindset with ability to switch gearsTakes initiative for product categoriesFollow-up on sample requirements as needed for each individual accountMeticulously review and prep samples for Customer approvalAnalyze and compare competitive brands to create specific fits
