Representatives from FGCU will be available at the Annual Meeting in Chicago for informal information sessions - please email jlortie@fgcu.edu to setup a time.The Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; be involved in course and curriculum development; be responsible for developing or maintaining a program of research; and participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.The Daveler and Kauanui School of Entrepreneurship at FGCU offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Entrepreneurship as well as an undergraduate degree in Digital Media Design. The School also offers a signature Runway Program Startup Incubator for students and alumni, and a Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program for training and upskilling U.S. Veterans.Essential Job Duties:Teaches 3 courses per semester, conducts research, and serves on school and university level committees.Other Duties:Support student co-curricular activities and business development.Required Qualifications:A doctoral degree or other appropriate terminal degree in Entrepreneurship, or in a closely related field (e.g., Organizational Behavior/Strategic Management, etc) from a program that is AACSB or similarly accredited. Accreditation may vary based on specific degree focus.A doctoral degree or other appropriate terminal degree in a field tangentially relevant to entrepreneurship (e.g., engineering, biology, chemistry, etc) from a program that is similarly accredited to AACSB within business fields. Accreditation may vary based on specific degree focus. Must be combined with at least 5 years of significant entrepreneurial experience.Demonstrated potential to build a successful record of publications.Demonstrated expertise in one of the following areas:

Entrepreneurial mindsetEntrepreneurial skills, competencies, expertise, or practiceStartup financeDifferentiation, growth, and scalingSustainable entrepreneurshipTechnology commercialization

ABD will be considered if the degree is conferred by August 9, 2025. If the successful candidate is ABD at the time of hire, the appointment will be made at the Assistant level on a fixed contract.Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in sustainability as it relates to innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or commercialization.Experience working with student co-curricular events and activities related to entrepreneurship.Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues outside your discipline.Familiarity with experiential learning techniques in entrepreneurship.Experience successfully mentoring student business ideas.Experience working with members of an entrepreneurial ecosystem beyond the campus.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience or commitment to the use of technology in university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the university, with a demonstrated ability or potential for developing a successful research program.Special Instructions to Applicants:Appointments will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available as early as January 2025 unless the successful candidate is ABD at the time of hire.
