The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), one of the largest institutes of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), conducts and supports a global program of research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.The Division of Intramural Research within NIAID is recruiting for a three-year postdoctoral fellowship position with shared lab placement between the Prion Cell Biology Unit, located at NIAID’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) in Hamilton, Montana (1 year), and the Experimental Immunotherapeutics Unit (EIU), located at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland (2 years).The successful candidate will undertake a research program using human cerebral organoids to replicate key neuropathological features of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, an opportunistic infection of the brain caused by the ubiquitous human polyomavirus JCPyV.QualificationsRequired:

Preference will be given to those candidates with experience and a background in advanced cell biology techniques and viral infections.Pay and Benefits:
