Jim Vreeland Ford is looking for an Automotive Service Advisor to help us provide an exceptional service experience to guests in need of vehicle repair and/or modification.

Job Summary

As a Service Advisor, you will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to serve as a knowledge expert on Ford vehicles, maintenance, accessories, and insurance options. You will also assist customers by delivering their new vehicle, ordering their perfect vehicle, and providing updates to the sales team for customer follow-up. Your organizational skills and clear communication skills will help ensure that any needs that the customer has are executed in a quick and meaningful manner.

This position is Monday-Friday with Bilingual/Spanish highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

Initiates automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested.

Verifies warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer rapport and records.

Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.

Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.

Calculates customer’s payment, including deductibles.

Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.

Obtains approval signatures and enters RO into service database system.

Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer’s approval of estimates, obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, and arranging towing and temporary transportation.

Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers’ publications.

Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

Previous automotive or hotel/restaurant/hospitality experience is highly desirable.

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Excellent grammar and communication skills, both written and oral.

Highly proficient with computers.

Job Type:

Full-time

Wage:

$40,000 and up, comprised of an hourly wage plus commissions on work performed.
