We are currently seeking a
Level 3 Engineer
to join our data center business unit. SMS Datacenter is an IT MSP for Managed Services, Colocation, Private Managed Cloud, and Help Desk.
Please note this is a full-time position which includes weekends.
Preferred availability is
Friday through Monday
with an additional day to be determined.
Description:We are a fast-paced multitenant environment, looking for an engineer experienced in both systems and network troubleshooting and engineering, who is comfortable with working both independently and with teams of other IT professionals to complete projects and resolve issues. You must be able to self-manage your time and resources. You will act as an escalation point for Help Desk technicians and receive and resolve tickets directly from customers when no one else is available on weekends.
Responsibilities:
Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage IT systems such as VMWare infrastructure, Windows Servers, web servers, Active Directory, O365, and Storage Systems.
Effectively troubleshoot IT-related issues in multiple unique client environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
Configure and install software, firewalls, routers, and other network devices.
Monitor devices throughout the day, troubleshoot alerts, and escalate when unable to resolve.
Mentor team members.
Communicate with users when needed.
Create and maintain complete technical documentation.
Analyze and maintain environments, monitor performance, and provide recommendations for improvement and best practices.
Requirements:
6+ years of combined experience as a systems and network engineer.
MSP and/or data center experience.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Management of environments such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, and MS Remote Desktop Services of 75+ users.
vSAN experience.
Familiarity with Windows DFS/ADFS, Active Directory, Group Policies.
Knowledge of backup/recovery systems.
Experience with complex networks such as physical and virtual VLANs.
TCP/IP, Layer 2 (VLAN) and Layer 3.
Wireless knowledge (802.11x).
SNMP monitoring.
WAN NNI circuit.
Microsoft Office Suites including Excel and Visio.
