POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you interested in diving into data, extracting the story to help others see the benefit of data-based decision-making? In this role, you are a Business Leader: you should be an effective communicator, aspiring, and able to drive insights into actions that improve Sysco’s business results.
You’ll need to mine multiple sources of data, including syndicated data (NPD, Technomic’s, etc.), derive actionable insights, and translate complex results into simple conclusions that will empower others to take action to win with our customers.
You will present key insights that will educate and influence Business and Executive leadership to identify opportunities and drive profitable growth. With a combination of analytical expertise, data and system knowledge and business acumen, you’ll answer and anticipate critical business questions and opportunities and deliver critical insights to the business in ways that make significant impacts. You will drive strategic thinking on critical growth initiatives and lead analytics and design.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define strategic analytical approach to execute critical projects, lead advanced analytics, and present key findings to business leaders.
Own strategic recommendations from data analytics on product lifecycle management.
Think out-of-the-box on creating and implementing new strategies driven by data.
Drive continuous improvement projects to deliver meaningful insights based on strategic KPIs, hypotheses, and metrics.
Collaborate with cross-functional team of business leaders to define and influence category strategies through data-driven insights and advanced analytics.
Work with leadership throughout Sysco to frame business opportunities and develop appropriate analytic strategies.
Lead problem-solving sessions to develop analytical solutions that contribute to the overall profitability of Sysco.
Develop in-depth business, analytical and systems knowledge to improve or build analytical solutions, approaches, and business recommendations.
Design & develop appropriate mechanisms for tracking & performance management (e.g., Tableau dashboards, reports).
Lead training and collaboration of cross-functional stakeholders.
Lead in the development of team culture, mentoring other associates, and development of skills and processes.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required (Business, Computer Science, or Analytics degree preferred), Master’s degree a plus.
4 years of relevant professional experience required.
SKILLS:
Understanding of business value drivers and corresponding business impact.
Strategic thinking skills (making complex decisions, innovation, dealing with ambiguity, etc.) as well as excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
Problem-solving skills with proven ability to influence others across the organization.
Self-motivated individual who is comfortable working with diverse business scenarios, handling multiple priorities and have a business & consultancy mind-set, while technically (data) savvy.
Passion about discovering new things and ability to learn quickly.
Good communication skills, self-motivated, dynamic, reciprocal, and "can-do" attitude.
Data management and visualization skills/tools (SQL, Tableau, PowerBI or similar).
Collaborative team player who can effectively work in a matrix/cross-functional organization.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Experience with syndicated data (NPD, Technomic’s, Nielsen IRI, etc.).
Project management capabilities preferred.
Experience working in distribution, retail, or wholesale industry preferred.
