As a Claims Analytics Data Scientist you will contribute on initiatives through clever use of data and complex analysis. You will be responsible to support the efficiency's increase of the Claims Department. You can be involved in various type of tasks such as data understanding , data extraction, work driver analysis, KPI creation, business case creation and forecasting.

How you will create impact:

  • Understand operational claims objectives and help them to put in place initatives and objectives that will maximize the unit's efficiency.
  • Develop analytic solutions to solve business problems with data science, including the use of programming, statistical techniques, modelling and forecasting methods.
  • Executing the appropriate data exploration, extraction, cleaning, reconciliation, and preparation processes required for the development of analytics solutions.
  • Communicate findings and make recommendations to influence claims management decision making.
  • Contributing to various projects, such as determining work drivers, developing and testing KPI's, providing support for business cases.

To join our team:

  • You have three years of experience in statistics, actuarial or data science.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
  • You are proficient with statistical programming languages and have experience working with large data volumes.
  • Strong understanding of P&C Insurance claims concepts.
  • Having experience working with R or Python and SQL is an asset.
  • Strong background using statistics to validate models and hypothesis.
  • Experience communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
