Who you are - VP, Collections

You are a dynamic, detail oriented, intuitive person with the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and become a trusted leader. What you'll do

  • Sets staff goals, monitors progress, and directs the workflow of the department to assure standards are met. Is responsible for performance evaluations and annual review of performance expectations for subordinate personnel.
  • Analyzes risk management trends and recommends strategies to address negative trends or risk factors which have been identified.
  • Evaluates and provides timely responses to member inquiries for loss mitigation relief, including options such as modifications / re-finance / re-write or foreclosure on loan accounts / mortgages.
  • Proactively analyzes monthly losses, identifying and projecting subsequent month's losses and delinquency ratios and numbers.
  • Prepares and maintains required records and reports regarding loss mitigation loan servicing activities to remain in compliance with regulations and internal controls.
  • Facilitates monthly Delinquent Loan / Charge-Off / Recovery review meeting with Senior Management to provide results and trends. Process approved Charge-Offs to designated General Ledger Account.
  • Oversees the appropriate documentation for bankruptcy accounts; court attendance when needed. Direct proper referral of written off accounts to various vendors (Collection Attorney / Collection Agency). Oversees the preparation of delinquent accounts for charge off.
  • Oversees and completes all projects as assigned. Keeps management apprised of all critical issues.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Control.
  • Oversees and completes various Collection Reports; Charge-Off, Real Estate and Potential Reports.
  • Lead or participate in organization-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Performs other tasks or functions as required, requested, necessary or prudent from time to time.


Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

  • Strong desire to work in a purpose driven organization
  • Strong leadership qualities with a big picture and pragmatic approach, leading effectively through setting a vision and coaching, motivational techniques, and conflict management
  • 10 to 12 years of experience
  • Demonstrated capability and passion for developing talent and a culture of innovation, collaboration, and engagement
  • Strong delegation and team building skills with the ability to support a team and the team's work embracing ownership, accountability, and responsibility
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the senior management level and across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytic, organization, presentation, and facilitation skills; ability to lead multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize workload and to work independently
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Education/Certifications/Licenses:

A college degree.
