Private Credit Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a Private Credit Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in private credit and finance matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lending, experience with various financing transactions, and a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues related to private credit.Duties:Advise clients on private credit transactions, including structuring, negotiating, and documenting financing agreements.Manage a diverse caseload involving cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.Provide legal guidance on asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts.Draft and review loan agreements, security, and related legal documents.Conduct due diligence and prepare a comprehensive analysis of financing arrangements.Represent clients in negotiations with borrowers, lenders, and other parties involved in financing transactions.Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting private credit and finance.Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure the effective handling of cases.Requirements:3-6 years of experience in private credit or finance matters at a nationally recognized law firm or equivalent legal setting.Demonstrated experience in lending, with borrower-side exposure considered a plus.Proven track record with various financing transactions, including cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.Experience in asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts is advantageous.Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex legal issues.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to the state bar in Illinois.Skills:Expertise in private credit and finance law.Proficiency in drafting and reviewing complex financing documents.Ability to handle multiple transactions and deadlines efficiently.Strong research and analytical abilities.Effective interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.High attention to detail and accuracy in legal work.
