The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is currently seeking applications for the position of General Counsel. This role entails overseeing highly responsible administrative and professional legal duties, directing and coordinating the operations of the Department's legal services. Responsibilities include supervising legal activities such as preparing cases for court and administrative proceedings, drafting contracts, legislation, administrative rules, and policies, and providing legal advice to the agency, Board, and ODMHSAS personnel.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
General Counsel I
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school10 years of experience as a practicing attorney3 years as a managing attorney or equivalent2 years as supervising attorney or equivalentMust be an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.Note: No substitution will be allowed for the three years as a managing attorney or equivalent and two years of experience as supervising attorney or equivalent.
General Counsel II
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school11 years of experience as a practicing attorney4 years as a managing attorney or equivalent2 years as supervising attorney or equivalentMust be an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.Note: No substitution will be allowed for the four years as a managing attorney or equivalent and two years as supervising attorney or equivalent.
