Senior Consultant Business Strategy and Operations

Cherokee Nation Federal Consulting (CNFC) is seeking a talented Senior Consultant Business Strategy and Operations to join our team in the Washington, DC area. This is a client-facing role where you will have the opportunity to lead high-profile workstreams, manage client engagements, and oversee the creation of deliverables from inception to completion. You will be working with a federal agency undergoing enterprise-wide change, offering a unique chance to engage with senior executives and influence significant transformation initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Consultant Business Strategy and Operations: Based on experience.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Senior Consultant Business Strategy and Operations responsibilities include:

Conduct research, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations to improve business processes and governance practices:
  • Perform comprehensive research and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and formulate actionable recommendations.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to assess current processes and identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop strategic recommendations to enhance governance practices and streamline operations.

Lead workstreams and manage client engagements, ensuring the successful delivery of projects:
  • Oversee multiple workstreams, coordinating efforts to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and adhere to agreed-upon timelines and budgets.

Oversee the creation of deliverables such as reports, presentations, process flows, project plans, operational guides, best practices, change management plans, and communications plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations:
  • Develop high-quality deliverables, including detailed reports, visual presentations, and comprehensive process documentation.
  • Create process flows, project plans, and operational guides to support project implementation.
  • Design change management and communications plans to facilitate smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement and support project management activities across various transformation and change management initiatives:
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to drive consensus and advance project objectives.

Apply strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges faced by clients:
  • Utilize strategic thinking and analytical skills to address complex business problems.
  • Develop innovative solutions that drive organizational improvements and achieve client objectives.
  • Continuously refine and adapt strategies based on evolving client needs and industry trends.

Serve as a facilitator, working directly with clients to guide and implement strategic initiatives:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on strategic initiatives and transformation efforts.
  • Facilitate the implementation of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals.

Provide ongoing support and expertise to clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead a small delivery team to service client needs effectively:
  • Oversee and mentor a team of junior consultants and analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate team activities and provide direction to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Strategy and Operations Senior Consultant responsibilities include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Change management certification is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • 6-8 years of experience, preferably in a federal setting.
  • Prior experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record in business process improvement, governance work, policy analysis, and change management.
  • Prior experience in a PMO or project management role.
  • Experience working with the IRS is highly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, trends, and information to derive insights and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with organizational objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas and recommendations clearly.
