E goless.If this sounds like you, keep reading!Role SummaryWe are seeking a Director, Corporate Counsel, Privacy & Compliance. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing data privacy, compliance, and other legal matters within clinical development, clinical operations, medical affairs, IT, human resources, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and evolve a global data privacy/protection and general compliance program within their domain that adequately meets the needs and stage of the company.Represent Legal team on data privacy legal questions, contract reviews, and negotiations.Draft, review, negotiate, and manage data privacy and protection terms for a variety of transactional agreements, including master services agreements, professional services and consulting agreements, statements of work, technology agreements, and supply agreements.Provide legal support for information security risk management team, including data breach analysis and response, third-party risk management, and insider risk.Serve as privacy and compliance advisor for clinical development, clinical operations, IT, medical affairs, patient advocacy, quality assurance, human resources, and regulatory functions, which includes providing legal and business counsel, and establishing and influencing appropriate ethical standards and legal considerations.In partnership with other members of the Legal team, provide overall leadership and management of legal matters within their domain by facilitating strategically important corporate initiatives, and advising the CEO and the leadership team on the legal aspects of key transactions and ongoing negotiations.Partner with the Chief Legal Officer, leading aspects of litigation, disputes, investigations, and related matters within their domain and advising the CEO and the leadership team on such matters.Partner with members of the Legal team to develop, implement, and manage the provision of legal and compliance services, to include resource/workforce planning and management, long-range planning, and budgeting.Assist in selecting and managing external counsel and other advisors.Ideal CandidateJD from an accredited law school.License to practice law and in good standing.7+ years of legal experience gained through a combination of law firm and in-house biotech/pharma experience.Strong background in U.S. and EU data privacy requirements.Experience in data processing agreements and data transfer agreements.IAPP Certifications, such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E, a plus.Ability to collaborate with team members for internal team and cross-functional alignment on initiatives.Proficiency with SharePoint, and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate developed strategies and analyses clearly and effectively.Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and manage competing priorities.Successfully exhibit Apogee’s C.O.R.E. values: Caring, Original, Resilient, and Egoless.Ability and willingness to travel to company meetings up to 10%.The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $240,000-$260,000.
