Who We Are…

Ned’s Club Washington DC is a new members’ club that is opening soon around the corner from the White House. It’s the second US based ‘Ned’ site to open following the launch of The Ned London in 2017.

The Property…

Ned’s Club Washington DC is a members’ club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President’s Park at 734 15th Street NW. The Property features a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory.

The Role...

As Executive Chef, you will be the heart and soul of The Ned’s culinary program. You will lead a talented team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and inspiring environment that pushes the boundaries of culinary excellence.

Main Duties:

Craft innovative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase the finest local and global ingredients, while staying true to The Ned's distinct culinary identity.

Develop signature dishes that become synonymous with The Ned's reputation.

Conduct regular menu tastings with the team to refine recipes and ensure consistency.

Research and incorporate new flavor profiles, cooking techniques, and global influences while maintaining the core identity of the restaurant's cuisine.

Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including menu costing, inventory management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure every dish meets the highest standards of freshness, taste, and presentation.

Collaborate with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices, prioritizing local and sustainable options whenever possible.

Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure a safe and clean working environment that meets all health and safety regulations.

Delegate tasks effectively, empowering chefs to take ownership and contribute their talents.

Schedule and lead pre-service briefings to ensure clear communication and seamless kitchen operations.

Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development for your culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Analyze sales data and menu performance to identify areas for cost-optimization and menu adjustments.

Develop strategies to minimize food waste and maximize efficiency in kitchen operations.

Work collaboratively with the restaurant manager on pricing strategies and menu profitability.

Cultivate strong relationships with purveyors and distributors to source the freshest, most sustainable ingredients available.

Develop and maintain cost-effective menus while maximizing profitability.

Schedule all BOH management team.

Review monthly inventory to ensure 100% accuracy.

Maintain labor cost in line with budget expectations.

Aid in the recruitment and training of all BOH managers and hourly staff.

Ideal Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, luxury restaurant or fine dining establishment.

Exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of fine dining techniques and plating presentation.

A strong commitment to using seasonal, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.

Impeccable leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a talented culinary team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with staff, vendors, and guests.

A passion for creating exceptional dining experiences that exceed guest expectations.

The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to the highest standards of quality and service.

Food Handler's Certificate for Washington DC, or equivalent if based in a different city/state.
