As Executive Chef, you will be the heart and soul of The Ned’s culinary program. Who We Are…The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time. Seven years after launching The Ned London in 2017, we are proud to be opening a Ned’s Club in the US capital, our fourth and newest location. Ned’s Club Washington is our first Club only property, with access exclusive to our global members.

The property…Ned’s Club Washington DC is a members’ club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President’s Park at 734 15th Street NW. The Riggs Building sits opposite the US Treasury and was constructed in 1930. The 12-storey building is located around the corner from the White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran branch. The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self-contained floor of private event spaces.

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage Team you will:Craft innovative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase the finest local and global ingredients, while staying true to The Ned's distinct culinary identity.Develop signature dishes that become synonymous with The Ned's reputation, researching and incorporating new flavor profiles, cooking techniques, and global influences.Conduct regular menu tastings with the team to refine recipes and ensure consistency.Implement and enforce robust quality control measures to ensure every dish meets the highest standards of freshness, taste, and presentation.Leverage your excellent relationships with suppliers and purchasing teams to source high-quality fresh ingredients at competitive prices, prioritizing local and sustainable options whenever possible.Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including menu costing, equipment maintenance, kitchen cleanliness, inventory management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.Aid in the recruitment and training of all BOH managers and hourly staff; delegating tasks effectively to empower chefs to take ownership and contribute their talents.Schedule and lead pre-service briefings to ensure clear communication and seamless kitchen operations.Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development for your culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect.Schedule of all BOH management team, maintaining labor cost in line with budget expectations.Review monthly inventory to ensure 100% accuracy.Analyze sales data and menu performance to identify areas for cost-optimization and menu adjustments.Develop commercial strategies to maximize profit including collaborating with the restaurant manager on pricing strategies, controlling food waste, and maintaining an efficient kitchen operation.

What you will bring to the role:Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, luxury restaurant or fine dining establishment.A passion for creating outstanding dining experiences that exceed guest expectations combined with exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of fine dining techniques and plating presentation.A strong commitment to using seasonal, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.Impeccable leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a talented culinary team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with staff, vendors, and guests.Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to the highest standards of quality and service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Ideally a Food Handler's Certificate for Washington DC, or equivalent if based in a different city/state.
