1Job Overview:

The Senior Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements. This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are delivered on time.Duties and Responsibilities:Execute purchases in support of assigned Sector and general goals and objectives of the business.Support all material requirements including scheduling, expediting, receiving, tracking, reporting, financial reconciliation as required, maintaining system visibility, inventory management, and supply chain control and support from inception of requirement through shipment of finished goods.Provide full material and supply chain support to the Program Manager(s) for the Sector.Perform as the primary interface for materials both to external suppliers and customers as well as internally within the organization.Monitor and report on supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.Identify areas of company expenditures where cost savings can be realized and implement programs necessary to achieve these savings.Ultimately responsible for making sure that production/manufacturing has all the material required to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory levels.Develop, train, and ensure compliance with the Purchasing Policies and Procedures of the organization.Provide guidance and assistance to junior buyers.Maintain and communicate changes in supplier information to keep the Manex system updated and current.Requirements and Qualifications:Strong knowledge and experience of materials management and vendor management working in electronics contract manufacturing (CM).Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint) and ERP systems such as Manex (preferred).Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Must have experience and ability to respond to continuous change/improvement.Strong organizational and time management skills.Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.Proficient in data analysis and presenting information to senior management.Experience and Education:Requires 4-6 years of experience as a buyer/planner of new products as well as commodity purchases.Requires 4-6 years of experience with materials/purchasing policies and associated procedures, MRP, materials planning, production planning, ECN change process and business process flow development.Experience should be in a low to medium volume, high product mix manufacturing environment.BA/BS degree in business, supply chain management or related field preferred.Website:
