Network Architect

We are seeking a Network Architect to join our team and conduct a full IT network assessment for our federal government client. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for performing a comprehensive assessment of the network; examining the current network infrastructure, security, processes, and performance to identify areas for enhancement; and providing a comprehensive view of the existing IT network setup. This position involves interacting directly with customers, necessitating the ability to effectively convey intricate information to diverse audiences with varying levels of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance and expertise on network design, configuration, and optimization.
Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for improvement and growth.
Provide analysis and recommendations for the continuous improvement of the network and processes.
Examine device configurations and detect any issues or areas for improvement.
Conduct meetings and interviews with engineers to gather details about the existing network environment.
Effectively support the coordination of project development from kickoff briefing to delivery, under the guidance of Managing Director.
Qualifications
10+ years of functional experience in a Network Architect role, including expertise in conducting network assessments.
In-depth knowledge of network design to include complex routing and switching, remote access, wireless and network security solutions.
Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Switches.
Experience with Cisco ISE, and Cisco Wireless.
In-depth knowledge of network security and security operations.
Ability to communicate designs and network concepts to a variety of audiences, including peers and customers, verbally and in writing.
General understanding of project management processes and terminology.
Strong leadership skills and personal drive.
Possesses strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Professional certification (e.g. CCIE, JNCIE).
Hybrid Telework/Washington, DC position.
