The Department of Medicine (DOM) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) seeks applications for the role of Project Manager. The Project Manager will provide a broad range of project, analytical, and administrative support for departmental initiatives, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Working collaboratively with the DOM central administration team, the Project Manager will ensure that projects and initiatives stay within their timelines and scopes. Key responsibilities will include web application management, meeting coordination, event planning, and general project management to achieve the strategic goals of DOM.The Project Manager will support and maintain our evolving portfolio of web-based applications. This involves collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and units to maintain existing applications, providing customer service, troubleshooting issues, creating and updating product documentation, and engaging in the development of new features and applications. Utilizing their expertise, the Project Manager will ensure information is integrated and presented in a clear, efficient, and user-friendly manner.Additionally, the Project Manager will be assigned work on a project basis and is expected to manage the entire problem-solving process, which includes researching and analyzing information, identifying and recommending potential solutions, and presenting the finished product in the form of a written recommendation or a completed project. Project responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the scope, budget, and timeline; analyzing stakeholders; planning change management strategies; coordinating and facilitating meetings; and reporting back to leadership on the status. The Project Manager may also occasionally act as a floating administrative professional, supporting a variety of divisional needs on a short-term basis as needed.The successful candidate will work with a high degree of autonomy, addressing project-based assignments that require comprehensive problem-solving skills, identification of solutions, and the presentation of results. The role demands a candidate who is adept at navigating a fast-paced work environment and working effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $123,100 (Annual Rate). The Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest department in the School of Medicine (SOM) at UCSF, with a mission encompassing research, teaching, patient care, and public service. With an annual budget of approximately $650M and around 3,000 employees across three sites, DOM plays a significant role within UCSF. The department consistently ranks among the top four departments of medicine in the country and is a leader in NIH research funding. DOM offers numerous fellowship programs and maintains one of the top internal medicine residency programs nationally.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area (e.g., business, communications, administration) and 3+ years of experience in administrative analysis or project coordination experience; or equivalent experience / training.Advanced project management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and faculty.Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.Ability to take initiative and follow through independently on projects.Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.Preferred Qualifications

Support experience in a University or Healthcare environment.Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.About UCSF
