The starting base salary range for a Sales Executive is $55,000 to $60,000 plus a sales incentive based on performance. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity.

Sales Executive - HI Overview

The Sales Executive is responsible for performing consultative selling of group, voluntary and individual products in support of our Blue Plan partners. This role manages mid-market group sales for Employer Group clients, consultants, and brokers within the Hawaii market. The Sales Executive assures annual sales goals are met in the assigned territory by developing and maintaining relationships with Blue Plan partner sales and sales management, consultants, brokers, and prospect/client business decision makers and staff. They are also responsible for the introduction of new products as applicable.

Essential Duties

Actively promotes and sells both new and existing products by employing a consultative approachEstablishes key partnerships and motivates their Blue Plan partner team to solicit and secure new groups for USAble Life group, voluntary and individual products; and partner products as applicableCreates lasting relationships with partners, brokers, and customersMonitors productivity and holds sales channel accountable for retention of existing accounts and production of new premiumDevelops prospects for new accounts or through referrals from customers or by targeting potential accounts within assigned distribution channelMaintains ongoing relationships with sales partners and existing mid-marketIdentifies and ensures resolution of escalated issuesEnsures sales of new group and voluntary products are established within the USAL systemConducts open enrollment meetings and attends conferences or trainings as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong working knowledge of health and life insurance industry and company insurance productsStrong working knowledge of the marketing and sales process and group customer purchasing needsStrong leadership, organizational, detail oriented, problem solving, and analytical skillsExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsIntermediate level MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skillsAbility to identify marketplace needs and work with partner sales staff to help in the sales processAbility to work independentlyStrong work ethicAbility to make decisions using limited dataAbility to present a professional appearance and demeanorAbility to handle confidential mattersProven ability in sales of health and life insurance productsProven ability to generate business contacts and develop and strengthen relationships with multiple business partnersAbility to travel 25% of the time locallyAbility to work in office as needed

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent related experienceInsurance Agent license in Health and Life in Hawaii5+ years' experience in closing sales and making presentations to decision makers in medium to large size organizations

Preferred Education and Experience

Advanced degree, MBA or industry certifications such as FLMI, LOMA, CLU, HIAA3+ years with a health, dental or life commercial carrier
