Position Overview

The Marketing Communications Specialist will play a critical role in shaping and executing our overall marketing communications strategy. This position is responsible for producing high-quality content for various channels, including emails, newsletters, blogs, and other organizational communications. The Marketing Communications Specialist will ensure all content is consistent with the brand voice, style, and messaging guidelines. He/she/they will also be the point of contact for all events, internal and external, as the point of contact for the Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies throughout the year-present strategy to Marketing leadership for collaboration and feedback.

Identify key messages and themes to promote the organization's mission, values, and initiatives.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our communications remain relevant and effective.

Provide strategic recommendations for enhancing our communication efforts and reaching our target audiences.

Content Creation:

Produce high-quality content for various programs, including production program Artistic Leader notes, patron communications, postcards, ad placements, newsletters, blogs, etc.

Ensure all content is consistent with the brand voice, style, and messaging guidelines.

Edit and proofread content created throughout the organization to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Email & SMS Marketing:

Develop and execute creative and strategic email and SMS marketing campaigns to engage and retain customers.

Manage email and SMS lists and segmentation for targeted marketing efforts.

Monitor and analyze email and SMS campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Analytics and Reporting:

Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing communications activities.

Use data-driven insights to optimize communication strategies and tactics.

Prepare regular reports on campaign performance, highlighting successes, trends, and areas for improvement.

Editing and Proofreading:

Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

Maintain high standards for quality and attention to detail in all written materials.

Event Coordination:

Support the planning and execution of events, both internal and external.

Develop event communication materials, including invitations, agendas, and promotional content.

Help ensure events are effectively communicated to the target audience.

Team Collaboration:

Provide guidance and support to other members of the communications team.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure communication efforts are integrated and aligned with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in a communications or marketing role.

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication strategies.

Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Prospect2).

Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a similar industry or sector.

Knowledge of SEO best practices.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment with occasional travel for events and other engagements.

Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed.

Hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office and 2 optional remote days.
