TITLE:

Hugh Cole Elementary School Grade Level LeadersJOB GOAL:The BWRSD is establishing an elementary grade level leader structure at Hugh Cole through the use of Title I funds. The intent is to create a structure to strengthen collaboration and coherence within and across grade levels, increase teacher voice in decision making, and promote two-way communication. Collaboration among teachers and administrators is critically important to a school’s culture and a school’s ability to improve achievement and outcomes. In addition to serving as a liaison between a school’s leadership team and teachers in their grade level, Grade Level Leaders will lead and coordinate the grade-level team’s meetings, and serve as the point person for grade-wide activities. Grade level leaders will be appointed for grades K-5, one grade level leader per grade.QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Rhode Island certification as an elementary teacher.Employed at Hugh Cole for the last three years.Strong understanding of Hugh Cole data, strengths and opportunities.Established positive relationships with Hugh Cole staff, students, and families.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience as a teacher leader (i.e., coach, mentor, serving on SIT, etc).Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students and families.Excellent oral and written communication skills and technology use.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in 30-60 minute meetings, bi-weekly, before or after school, with school leaders to provide input to decision making, professional development, and promote communication between school leadership and teachers in their grade level.Work with other grade level leaders and school administrators to establish a structure for team collaboration, collaboration norms, decision-making, and grade level team meetings.Work with teachers in their grade level to establish specific goals for the grade-level team to increase positive behavioral outcomes and student achievement.Share responsibility for promoting positive and productive relationships between colleagues, students, parents and community at grade level meetings and CTT.Engage in data collection and analysis to inform grade level planning.Oversee the communication of grade level events/ school wide activities to grade level staff and students.Participate in professional learning as requested, to enhance their ability to perform the responsibilities of this position.Serve as a member of the school leadership team.Perform other related work as required by the Principal.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

One year only, grant funded stipend. Will complete an estimated 30 hours per year for hours required beyond the contractual day to be submitted on time sheet. Schedule developed in collaboration with the building principal. Compensation $2,400 per year for successful completion of job responsibilities. Stipend will be paid in 2 installments December/June.EVALUATION:
